In Search Of Poetry - A Poem By Donovan Baldwin
I get ideas for my poetry from many sources. Sometimes, simply a stroll in the night can unlock or reveal so many poetic, artistic, images.

In Search Of Poetry
I set out upon the night,
In search of poetry.
I heard my footsteps
In the silent darkness,
Saw the silver moon
Resting quietly above,
Its twin reflected in
The silent waters of
A pond where fish slept,
Its liquid argent light,
Gleaming upon the
Graceful naked limbs
Of autumn trees,
Listened to the rustle
Of a seductive breeze
Rippling through
Grass and leaves,
Imagined sleeping birds
Who would sing at dawn,
Rabbits resting now
In their warrens,
Hungry little flower eaters
Come the new day,
And, above it all the
Silent song of stars, and,
Hearing in my mind
And feeling in my heart
The rush of words
Which had to be said,
Returned refreshed for
Having found what
I had sought.
